There are several ways to look for the sponsor or publisher of a web page.

  1. Look at the top of the page. Is there a company or organizational name in the header?
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see if there is information. You may find, Copyright, "Created by".
  3. Look at the URL and go to the home page of the site. You can usually find it by deleting everything in the URL before the domain name. For example, the page https://www.umb.edu/library/about/departments/circulation can be shorten to https://www.umb.edu which takes you to the UMass Boston home page.
  4. Look for a link to About or About Us. That will tell you more about the sponsoring organization.

The footer of this web page contains the sponsor information for a blog citation. Footers may also include useful information such as contact person, phone, and address.
