Ebrary and EBL ebooks will be migrating to a new platform called ProQuest Ebook Central. The migration should be a seamless process with minimal distribution.
The user to the new platform will notice a slight difference in the interface. The biggest change will be in the Bookshelf which has been totally redesigned.
New features will include:
All Accounts and personal Bookshelves will be migrated too. If you want to retain your account and the ebooks on your Bookshelf please follow the directions below otherwise your account and/or bookshelf will no longer be available to you.
Instructions for migrating your account and Bookshelf:
When migrating from ebrary to Ebook Central, patrons will be given the option to have their ebrary bookshelf contents copied over (complete with their notes, highlights, and bookmarks, and with their ebrary bookshelf folder structure, if any) to Ebook Central.
The option is displayed when the patron signs in to their Ebook Central account and clicks the Bookshelf tab.
If the patron clicks the X, the option to have their ebrary bookshelf copied over will not be displayed again. If a patron accidentally closes it and still wants their ebrary bookshelf copied over, they need to contact firstname.lastname@example.org and include that they are from University of Massachusetts Boston, and support will move the bookshelf over to the new platform.
When the patron clicks on the "Move ebrary Bookshelf" button, they are shown the following screen:
Once the patron clicks the "Get Started" button, they are taken to the sign-in page that had been used on ebrary. Once they successfully sign in there, their bookshelf contents are copied over to their Ebook Central bookshelf. Note, in some cases the system may not even need them to take the step of signing in on ebrary.
