To save searches in PubMed, follow these steps:

  1. From the Healey Library homepage click on Databases & Indexes
  2. Select "P" and then PubMed (with links to UMass Boston holdings)
  3. If you are off campus, you will be prompted to sign in using your UMass Credentials
  4. Enter your search terms into the box
  5. Click "Create Alert" (located on the results page underneath the search box)
  6. Sign in to My NCBI with your NCBI account or through a 3rd party (such as Google)
  7. You can edit the name of your search and receive email updates of new search results
  8. Click "Save"

To save article citations, follow these steps:

  1. From the Healey Library homepage click on Databases & Indexes
  2. Select "P" and then PubMed (with links to UMass Boston holdings)
  3. If you are off campus, you will be prompted to enter your UMass Credentials 
  4. Enter your search terms into the box
  5. Check the box(es) next to the title(s) of article citations you'd like to save
  6. Click Send to at the top right corner of the results list
  7. From the drop-down menu, select the location you'd like to send your selected citations: "File," "Collections," "Order," "Citation manager," "Clipboard," "E-mail," or "My Bibliography"
  8. "Collections" and "My Bibliography" require you to log in to your My NCBI account
  9. Citations sent to "Clipboard" will be lost after 8 hours of inactivity
