There are many ways to find Library of Congress subject headings.

  1. Do a basic search in the Healey Library Catalog or WorldCat at UMass Boston and then look at the subjects in the item record.
  2. Search the Healey Catalog for Library of Congress subject headings by using the subject tab.  To do this, enter your terms, for example African American. Then browse the results.
  3. Look on the Library of Congress Classification Outline website.
  4. Look at the Library of Congress Cataloging-in-Publication Data on the back of a book's title page.
