Yes, the Healey Library is open to the public. The use of most books, journals, and databases within the library is unrestricted and free. You can use electronic resources and computers based upon availability. Request access at the reference desk on the 4th floor.

NOTE: Some databases have publisher restrictions that require UMass Boston credentials. The following databases have restricted access on and off campus: 

  • Books 24/7 - Requires login with UMass Boston email address and password
  • EBook Central -  Requires login with UMass Boston email address and password
  • SciFinder - Requires an account with a UMass Boston email address
  • Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) - Requires approval from the College of Management
