Sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of EducationERIC (Education Resources Information Center) is considered the world's largest online digital library of education literature.

Within ERIC's collection of 1.4 million bibliographic records (updated regularly), you will find records for, and when possible, full text links to:

  • journal articles
  • books
  • research syntheses
  • conference papers
  • technical reports
  • policy papers
  • other education-related materials

Because ERIC is produced by a US government agency (US Dept of Education) it is freely available on the Web.

However, the UMB community has access to the enhanced ERIC database (via EbscoHost) through Healey Libray.

  • To access the Library's ERIC database from off-campus, you will be prompted to enter your UMass credentials.
