The use of books, journals, databases within the library is unrestricted and free.

There is no limit to the number of books you may borrow.

There is no fine when returning overdue books from our main collection.

The only exceptions are materials on course reserve and the 24 hour Chromebooks. Reserves and Chromebooks accrue overdue fines to ensure timely return of limited materials. Items that are long overdue and go to "Lost" status will result in a replacement fee. Overdue items are charged $.75 per day per item with a maximum of $30. Fines begin accumulating on the first day overdue.

Books can be checked out at the Circulation Desk on the second floor of Healey Library or via Curbside Pick-Up.

The Circulation Department assists patrons with account questions, picking up or returning borrowed items, and with general information questions.

If a book is checked to another student, you will have to wait until it is returned. The circulation department will let you know when the book is available. You can call (617-287-5900) or email library.circulation@umb.edu to check the status of the book.
